Electrical flat rate pricing that moves with your costs

Flat rate pricing gives the customer one price for the job before work starts. The weakness has never been the model — it's the book. A static flat rate book quotes the material costs it was printed with, and while wire and copper move monthly, the book sits still. AccuPrice builds electrical flat rate pricing from your own numbers: your material costs from a catalog of 1,400+ items updated every month, your labor hours, your markup. When material prices move, your flat rate tasks reprice automatically. Sell flat rate, time and materials, or a blend — and sync it to the CRM you already run.

How live-cost flat rate works

A flat rate task is three numbers rolled into one price: the material the task uses at today's replacement cost, the labor hours it takes at your true hourly rate, and your markup. In a static book, that roll-up happens once, when the book is built, and the result is frozen on the page. In AccuPrice the roll-up is live.

  • Each task is built from items in the maintained catalog — 1,400+ individual material items whose prices update every month — rather than from a typed-in material total.
  • Labor hours and your labor rate are stored on the task, so the labor side is yours and stays put until you change it.
  • When a material price moves, every task that uses that item reprices itself. A panel change in June carries June's panel price.
  • The customer still sees one price before the work starts. What changes is that the price is right this month, not the month the book was printed.

The Flat Rate Pro plan

Flat rate is part of the Flat Rate Pro plan, which includes everything in Price Book Pro — the maintained catalog, 1,400+ prebuilt assemblies, prebuilt labor items — plus the tools to run a flat rate book off your own costs:

  • Custom flat rate book builder. Build tasks from your own material and labor; your rates, your markup, your market.
  • Tasks that stay current. Flat rate prices track material costs as they move, so the book never has to be rebuilt.
  • Four field guides, built to your item list. Printed references for the truck that match the book your office quotes from.
  • Book migration and a dedicated account specialist. Bring an existing flat rate book across and get help setting it up on your numbers.

Every AccuPrice plan is priced per company with unlimited users, and the book syncs into QuickBooks Online and Jobber or exports by CSV to any other CRM — see the price book page for where it connects and plan details for what each tier includes.

Frequently asked questions

What is flat rate pricing for electricians?
One set price per task, quoted before work starts, built from material cost, labor hours, and markup. AccuPrice builds flat rate tasks from your own costs and reprices them automatically as material prices move.
Why do flat rate books go stale?
Because they're static. Material prices move monthly; a printed or fixed book keeps quoting the costs it was built with. AccuPrice ties each task to live material pricing instead.

Flat Rate Pro adds the custom flat rate book builder and four field guides built to your item list.
