How to Import Your AccuPrice Price List into Housecall Pro

If you run your electrical business on Housecall Pro, you don't have to spend hours retyping labor codes, materials, and prices into your Price Book by hand.

Housecall Pro has a built-in import wizard that will read your AccuPrice file and import your categories, item names, descriptions, prices, and units of measure automatically.

Here's a simple, step-by-step walkthrough.

What You'll Need

Before getting started, make sure you have:

• Your AccuPrice list exported as a CSV or Excel file
• Admin access to Housecall Pro, or Office Staff access with the Update company account info permission (required to edit the Price Book)
• About 10–15 minutes, depending on how many items you're importing

Good news: You don't need to reformat your spreadsheet or match it to a special template. Housecall Pro's importer will automatically match your columns—you'll just review and confirm them.

⚠️ Important: Use the Correct Description Column

Your AccuPrice export contains two description columns:

• Description (standard)
• Timestamped Description (updated every time the price list is regenerated)

Always map the standard, non-timestamped Description column into Housecall Pro.

If you accidentally map the timestamped version, Housecall Pro may treat each monthly import as an entirely new set of line items instead of updating your existing ones because the timestamp changes every month.

Best practice:

• ✅ Map the standard Description column to Description
• ❌ Set the timestamped description column to Ignore this column

Step 1: Open Your Price Book Settings

1. Log into Housecall Pro.

2. Click the gear icon in the lower-left corner to open Settings.

3. Select Price Book.

4. Choose:

   • Services for labor/service items
   • Materials for parts and materials

Because most AccuPrice exports include both, you'll typically repeat the import process twice—once for each tab.

Before importing, Housecall Pro validates your data.

1. Turn on Show errors.

4. Click Next once all errors have been resolved.
